Tim Porter from Porter Family Vineyards in Napa

We LOVE Porter Family Vineyards. Over the years we have sent many of you to visit them in Napa because their luscious, full-bodied cabernets and cab/syrah blends knock the socks off of most Napa wine houses and they are the nicest people!  Friday from 5-7:30  and Saturday 1-5 we will be hosting Tim Porter. He will be pouring six of the Porter Family Vineyards Wines:

Before moving out to California to join his parents in the wine business, Tim was a computer scientist with a specialization in financial economics. In fact, the entire Porter family are scientists, who combined their love for sciences and land in Porter Family Vineyards.

The vineyard is located in the Coombesville region of Napa Valley.  They make small amounts of beautiful hand crafted wines.  Tom and Beverly Porter (Tim's parents) met while working at IBM. Tom was an electrical engineer for IBM, he patented the technology for the floppy disk and when he became the VP of Product development for Seagate Technologies in San Francisco, he purchased the Porter vineyard. Since then, the project has become a family affair!
